President and Founder - Dana Rochat
I have spent most of my life in the Banning Pass Area and the last 10 years living in Cherry Valley. I started with show dogs back in the 1980s. My first breed was the English Cocker Spaniel, specifically
a blue roan and tan named Cowboy. In the 1990s, I fell in love with the
Australian Cattle Dog and purchased my first “blue heeler” in Colorado. In 2008, my daughter took up showing dogs, which launched our careers into the world of dog sports.
Our dog showing team is often referred to as the "DCR Red & Blue Crew" team. Typically they can be found competing nearly every
weekend in conformation, herding, obedience, Rally, agility, barn hunt,
nose work, or dock diving. Throughout the years, my dogs and I have earned dozens of High in Trial awards
and numerous conformation championships. Pictured is my foundation stud dog Maverick, who is the first ACD to earn the
new Rally Championship title (RACH), the only two-time ACDCA Versatility
winner, the first National Owner Handler Series best of breed winner at
Eukanuba, and the first GCH show dog to earn the herding triple crown of championships
(AKC, AHBA, ASCA). I also train ACD service dogs and now offer herding lessons at The Oaks Ranch.
In my spare time, also known as a day job, I work for a California
nonprofit land conservancy. I am the acquisitions director and serve on
numerous other nonprofits as an officer or board member. I have also been
active in supporting and volunteering with local dog rescue organizations, youth groups, all-breed clubs, the
Australian Cattle Dog Club of Greater Los Angeles, the Australian Cattle Dog Club of America and the Australian Cattle Dog Club United.
